For the last year I have been part of the localization department of an Entertainment Company producing and successfully launching video games for the Latin American Market.
This is a job I have enjoyed doing, and would like to continue working in translation projects.
Below is a brief description of the translation and localization work I have been involved with
to meet the goals of an entertainment company
Localization English to Spanish ------- May 2011 / Present
AeriaGames, Santa Clara, CA.
I worked independently,and as part of a team, to localize text from English to Spanish of Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. These games are heavily story-driven and complex; part of the challenge was to put these stories and dialogues in flowing Latin American Spanish.
To mantain consistent terminology in these games accross multiple team translators, we used XTM cloud.
This software allowed us to work individually, but without interfiering with each other's work.
This tool gave me added experience in translation management across many users.
- Games that have already been launched requiere refinement, maintanance and sustained customer
- service. The company had previously launched a game in Spanish version that requiered revision
- of grammar and consistency of existing content, as well as addition of new content.

- Immediately after launch of the Spanish version, the game is distributed to select users who report
- glitches, bugs, inconsistencies and language errors. I participated in customer service for the
- forums dedicated to find the reported problems and solve them.

In addition to dialogue translation, I also worked on the game's user interface (Game Portal).
This is the first point of contact customers have with our product.
